Tournament Format:

Round robin will be here to stay as it is a fantastic opportunity to get everyone to play against new folk; however time was a factor which we were always against last season.
Round Robin Groups will be limited to a maximum range of 10-12 people per group.
If the turnout is large enough for 2 groups, then a split will be decided by drawing names from a hat.
As an incentive to come along we’ll organise a prize for attending all 6 stages. The draw will take place on the final stage.

Scoring System:
1 point per game won
0 points per game lost

Potential points gained:
2-0 victory: you: 2 points, opponent 0 points
2-1 victory: you: 2 points, opponent 1 point
2-2 draw: 2 points each
1-2 loss: you: 1 point, opponent 2 points
0-2 loss: you 0 points, opponent 2 points

CHANGES THIS SEASON:

Any in game pausing or controller disconnect during your game = instant forfeit of the current round, continuation of play will be disallowed.

Even pauses during an ultra animation will be penalised, the reason being is that players playing a charge character may lose their charge.

This may be harsh however we have to be strict on these rules. In game events like this can dictate the outcome of a game.

Random Selections will gain 1 bonus point on top of the regular scoring system.
you random vs your non-random opponent:
2-0 victory: you gain: 3 points, opponent gains: 0 points
2-1 victory: you gain: 3 points, opponent gains: 1 point
2-2 draw:    you gain: 3 points, opponent gains: 2 points
1-2 loss:    you gain: 2 points, opponent gains: 2 points
0-2 loss:    you gain: 1 point, opponent gains: 2 points

Both random:
2-0 victory: you gain: 3 points, opponent gains: 1 points
2-1 victory: you gain: 3 points, opponent gains: 2 point
2-2 draw:    you gain: 3 points, opponent gains: 3 points

The 6th stage will be the final points ac?umulator, Followed by a Single Elimination of the Overall Top 8:

• player 2 proceeds to choose his character
• player 1 choose his character and ultra, the admin makes sure that player  1 sticks to his original choices

No programmable controllers, and no use of turbo buttons will be allowed in this tournament.

Before matches start, please ensure that your button binds have been set up, once the buttons have been configured; exit back to the character screen and begin your match once both parties are ready.

Fairplay:
Friendly smack talk will be permitted however please respect other participants in this league. Esc provides a fun environment in which we can all enjoy games.

First Warning:
if we feel that you are too far with the smak talk, you will receive one warning. Please tone it down and try to enjoy the rest of the game.

Second Warning:
This will result in you being disqualified with no refund. Physical threats will grant you an instant disqualification. You will be asked to leave the premise and will be banned from the league & Esc Games.

FAQ
Q: How much is it to enter the league?
A: League entry will cost £5 per league date.

Q. I don’t think I’m good enough yet, can I practise with the entrants before the league matches start?
A. Yes you can however it costs £4 for casuals during the warm-ups. The best way to learn is to enter the league and learn as you play!

Q: What time does the league start?
A: Entrants are welcome to come in at12:00PM for casuals & warm-ups, entrants should be signed in and registered before the league will kick off at 2:00PM

Q: Can I use different characters per match?
A: Yes you can, you can counter pick if you like

Q: Any banned characters?
A: Nope, no characters are banned for this league.

Q: Can i bring my own controller?
A: We will supply controllers however these are public sticks and we can not guarantee that these will work 100% accurately. You are welcome to bring your own controllers but ensure that you bring your own adaptors if required. Programmable controllers will not be allowed in this league.

Q: Do I need to attend all the league dates?
A: No but it will help with your overall points total at the end of the league.

Q: I know i cant beat player XXX can i kill him and remove him from the tournament so i can win ?
A: No, its a game.
